Use the Windows 64bit community workaround and the ksp-圆4-total-unfixer. Using Linux, the 64bit version of KSP runs rock solid. So Squad decided to stop supporting the 64 bit version for Windows.Īdditionally a lot of modders modified their mods to deactivate themselves on Windows 64bit because some players would blame their mods for crashing the game. The solution would be to use the 64bit version of the Unity game engine it can address all the RAM in your computer without problems, unfortunately the 64bit Windows version is very buggy and caused permanent crashes. The GPU is not the problem, KSP uses the Unity game engine and the 32bit version of this game engine can only address 4GB of RAM ( like every 32bit program) the problem is that mods increase the memory usage of KSP if you install too much mods or especially resource hungry mods like EVE you can go beyond that 4GB limit and KSP crashes. I'm guessing the mods are the problem, but which ones, and why? And does anyone know if I can resolve this problem without deleting my mods? If it helps, I try not to run any other programs whatsoever while also running KSP, to reduce the load on my PC, but the game still crashes very often Which has me confused: why would a visual enhancement make my game crash if the GPU (surely) wouldn't be working that hard to render the environment, as it was completely black, I didn't even have lights on my craft. Yesterday I installed Scatterer and EVE, which made it even more unstable, to the point that I had landed on Minmus for the first time, and was really proud and excited, considering I did it on the completely dark side (rookie mistake, I know), but somehow, after doing so, KSP crashed. So I've been playing a whole lot of KSP lately, really enjoying it, but ever since I started playing around with mods, I found that KSP has become more and more susceptible to crashing.Īs you can see, I don't think my game is very heavily modded, as most of those mods are just there to be used as in game tools.Īt first I thought that the Visual mods were making the graphics component too heavy, but I have been getting a steady 50 fps, and my GPU never really gets too hot.
